Did you join us for the March Etsy Challenge?! How’d it go?
Let’s recap last month: the challenge was to take new product photos, add 3-5 new listings and promote through Instagram accounts. I added new listings to all three shops and saw so much growth from it! I will stand behind adding new listings as a way to grow your shop, because it works!
For April, I am only going to keep the challenge to one idea. This is not as overwhelming and makes the challenge easy to focus on.
Post behind the scenes content and your story to your social media channels.
I’m sure you’re used to posting perfect listing photos to your Instagram so your followers can see your products. While this is a great way to share what you sell, it is hard for followers to buy into. Focus on your story, your why, and your behind the scenes. This will create deeper relationships instead of consumer relationships.
Here are a few post ideas to get you started:
-What tools do you use to make your product? Organize them neatly and tag #EtsyOrganizedNeatly for a chance to be featured by @EtsySuccess
-Do you come home from your 9-5 to work on your shop on the side? Share how you do it!
-Post a photo of your workspace! Even if it is your kitchen table, it counts!
-Introduce the maker and share why you started your shop
-What is the most rewarding part of running an online business?
-Working on something new? Post a photo of the process
-Share a video of your hands making or designing your products.
Hopefully these will spark some ideas for social media posts this month! I’ll be posting mine on my instagram account.
If you’re joining in on the challenge, comment below and share your social media handles with me!
