Last Minute Costume Idea | Hamburgalar

I was caught up in a decision: go to a halloween costume show in a cute outfit or dress up and get a discount. I chose the latter. I came up with this just a few hours before and it honestly took me 10 minutes to whip up.

I already had the striped shirt, jeans, boots and hat. I bought the gloves for $2 and the fabric was around $4 for all of it. I bought fleece so I didn’t have to hem any edges and took the easy route of just gluing on the hamburger shapes to my tie I cut from fleece.

Fabric: 1/2 yd. Black fleece for cape and mask, 1 ft. Red fleece for the tie, 1 ft. Yellow fleece for hamburger shapes and ribbon on hat.

Cape: To make sure it was a no-sew project and maximize my time and materials, I laid out the fabric and cut from both sides thin strips leaving room in the middle to cut down to make the cape shape. I also cut a little “swoop” shape at the top so it didn’t bunch up when tied.

Tie: Fold your red fabric in half and cut shape of tie. You can trace a tie or just look at a picture of a tie.

Hamburger Shapes: Cut shapes drawn out from yellow fleece and glue onto tie. You can add green and brown for lettuce and meat if you want!

Mask: cut a thin strip about 1 1/2 inches wide by the circumference of your head and measure where the eye holes should go. Fold and cut out eyes.

Hat: Cut a 1 1/2 strip of yellow fleece and tie around black hat with a brim.

This was such a simple costume to throw together. Now go out there and steal some hamburgers!
