This top is modeled after a sweater version I bought about four years ago, every time I wear it someone asks where I got it. I haven’t seen anything similar since so I decided to make my own version for the summer. The best thing is it only takes 10 minutes and there is no sewing involved.
Materials: 1-1.5 yds of jersey fabric (if you want a fuller top, get 1.5), scissors, chalk
1. Fold your fabric in half. 2. Measure yourself from your shoulder to waist, double the number and add about 5-10 inches. This will be the diameter of your circle. 3. Draw a half circle the size of your diameter. I measured out the length of the folded fabric and roughly drew the half circle. 4. Cut out circle. Keep the fabric folded. 5. For the head & arm holes: Measure the half way point on the diameter and make a mark. From here cut an oval just on the front part of the fabric. Measure two inches from the top of each side of the oval and cut arm hole slits. (Refer to picture)
There are so many ways to wear this top, I will soon share a couple ways to style it.
