Succulent Pumpkin Planter | 10 Minute Fall Decor Idea

Are you big into fall decor? Honestly, I’ve never decorated for fall. But with heirloom pumpkins and white pumpkins everywhere I had to give it a shot this year. This weekend, Michaels was having 70% off pumpkins and a 50% off one item sale…so I had to swing by. I loved their white pumpkin selection and faux succulents! I’ve seen pumpkins turned to vases for succulents and flowers all over Pinterest so I decided to give it a shot. It was beyond simple, and I love how it still blends in with the rest of our decor! I think the best part is I can still use it next year. Here is how to make your own succulent pumpkin planter:

Supplies: Foam hollow pumpkin (found at Michaels), x-acto knife, faux succulents (found at Michaels), paper or plastic bags to stuff your pumpkin, and white rocks.

Process: Mark a circle around the top of your pumpkin where you want to create the opening. Be sure not to make it too big, you still want your succulents to fill the space without too much room left over. Using your knife, cut the top off. Trim off any excess foam and stuff the pumpkin with plastic bags or crumpled paper to give the succulents support. Arrange your succulents in the pumpkin and finish it off with rocks!

So easy, right?!
